Happy Birthday Grandma Pam
Today is Grandma Pam's birthday. To celebrate last night we had her favorite Hostess Cupcakes for dessert. And then this morning she took Ellie to school.
Nick and I are at the hospital, all settled in waiting for Chaos. It'll be a long and exciting day for everyone.

As we anticipate having a child today this may be the last post on this blog. We may have to start a new one to have daily photos of both kids. But I'll deal with that later...I have other pressing matters to think about today.

Baby Watch Day 5
Still waiting. But we have an end date. If Chaos is a no show over the weekend, we will be induced in Monday (also know as Grandma Pam's birthday). Hope nobody cares about sharing a birthday...
This morning was the first time in a while Ellie slept in. She woke up around 6:50, got herself dressed and played for a while before coming to find me and asking for breakfast.
Today at school they are celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday and Read Across America Day so Ellie took in a Dr. Seuss book, Horton Hatches the Egg. Apparently there is going to be a lot of reading going on at school today because all the kids were bringing in books.

Baby Watch Day 4
No baby yet...
But I do have a 5 year old who is so excited to get out of bed that she does so at 6:00am now. Lucky me!
Today it was okay because she needed a shower (yes she prefers showers to bathes) and so we had time for one this morning.
She also woke up a little congested and told me she had a little cold. Hopefully the shower helped clear her out a little bit and she feels better at school. If only she would learn to blow her nose life would be so much better for her.
She picked out her outfit, leggings and a dress. I noticed at home but didn't really wanna deal with it, but both were dirty, like she spilled something. I'm going with the thought that she spilled this morning and I didn't notice until it was too late, however, she likely just put on dirty clothes this morning.
What, I'm due to have a baby any minute now and she woke up an hour earlier than I'm used to her waking up...

Baby Watch Day 3
Still waiting...
This morning, because again we had time, I had Ellie do one more thank you note. Nicks coworker the KTLA meteorologist/sports guy (yes, in LA they are one in the same), knowing that Ellie loved Yogurtland, got her a gift card to the place. So I had her write (and decorate with a unicorn and rainbow apparently) a thank you note for him.

And then because apparently we live in a frozen tundra is the temps only reach 70, Ellie insisted on wearing a new winter hat she got from Great-Grandma Van over the weekend. I truly was adorable on her, although really not necessary given that it was like 65 degrees when we went to school.

Baby Watch Day 2
Ellie and I had a nice slow paced relaxing morning at home. And we still made it to school on time! I'm just moving a lot slower than I used to, but Ellie still moves at the same speed, which makes thing interesting.
I finally finished Ellies thank you notes from her birthday party. And since Ellie had time this morning I made her sit down and write Thank You in each card and sign her name (I wrote a nice little note but felt it was important that she write something as well). Then, since she still had time she added some stickers to the to decorate.

In the car to school Ellie asked me what happens when the baby comes. I explained that we don't know when he will arrive but that mommy and daddy would have to go to the hospital so Grandma would come to play with her and take her to school or pick her up if needed. She was very excited about that and thought maybe Grandma would make her pumpkin pancakes (good luck with that!).
But if course at school she was super clingy and for the first time in what seems like years she cried and threw a fit when I had to go.

We made it through the weekend
We made it to March and through the weekend without expanding out family. Pfew. But of course, now I'm VERY preggers and actually, for really the first time this pregnancy, uncomfortable. Maybe it's a mental thing...we have attended and done what we needed to so now I can acknowledge all those aches, pains, and the fact that I'm this pregnant.
But we are still standing. Ellies teachers at school kinda thought I wouldn't be there today...but I was. Unfortunately I forgot my phone in the car so I don't have photos of her today. Or the full on frog in the tadpole aquarium, which Ellie was very excited about.
So this past weekend we went up to SB for a wedding, Ellie had a ballet recital, and we watched the Oscars. After an exhausting weekend I didn't have the energy to keep her occupied while Nick watched, because he had to for work, the Oscars. But she did help me do laundry and make her lunch so she wasn't in front of the TV the whole time.
We kept promising her she could see them sing Let It Go (which won for best song...maybe because the voters couldn't get it out of their heads?). But unfortunately it was too late in the show and past her bedtime. But we DVRed it and promised she could watch it this morning...and we did.
If apologize for no photos today, but I'm pulling the "I'm 38-weeks pregnant" card. So deal. Here is Ellie from her ballet recital yesterday.
