Ellie's First Haircut!

Now that I've stressed and/or freaked a lot of people out.. it isn't what you think. It's worse.. or better. Confused yet?

Well.. it turns out Ellie had some big news to share with Ann at pick-up time yesterday. At the cutting practice table.. Ellie used a pair of safety scissors to snip a small curl off her head, and proudly announced to the class, "I cut my own hair! Look, everybody!"

Here's the damage.. not so bad. In fact.. you can almost not even see the lock she's holding up.

In any case, I impressed upon her that only big people who have a lot and lot of practice with special hair-cutting scissors, not safety scissors, can give haircuts. She understood.

The other big news yesterday was that it was costume / class picture day at school. What should come as a surprise to nobody who knows her, Ellie chose a pretty blue dress to wear -- one very similar to that of a certain Disney princess.

It's good she isn't wearing any fancy dresses today.. because there's dirt in the sensory table today -- along with some hidden bugs and creepy crawlies (toys, of course).
