Princess

Last night was rough. Ellie has been getting out of bed 2-3 times a night for various reasons (water, potty though she rarely goes, needs music back on, can't fine her red blanket) so this weekend we instituted some new rules. One of which being she wasn't allowed out of her room. And we made it difficult to get out.

Last night, I heard crying and "mommy...mommy" coming from her room. I go in and she had wet the bed, the first time since the first week we were in CA. This was at 12:30am.

I got her into clean pajamas. Pulled the wet sheets off the bed. Then I went to find new sheets...but our second set of twin sheets wasn't there. I searched for 20 minutes with a tired and scared Ellie following me around. I couldn't find them. I came to the conclusion that our housekeeper took them to be laundered instead of staying at our place to wait till they were cleaned. I can't confirm that yet...but it was what I determined last night.

Well, Nick is sleeping and will wake up at 1:15am to go to work. I figured, Ellie and I could cuddle on the couch so as to not wake him up early. It was 1:00am...I'm not thinking straight.

He got up, and ready for work which woke Ellie right up. She wanted to play and spend time with Nick. I moved us into Nick and my bed to sleep, but she wasn't happy when I told her she had to stay in bed with me. She wanted to play, she wanted to see Nick, she wanted to watch TV. I turned on the Disney channel thinking maybe she'll relax and fall asleep. I set the TV to a 30 minute sleep timer. 30 minutes later, I'm asleep...until Ellie woke me up to tell me the TV was broken.

It took until about 2:30 until she had calmed down and fallen asleep. I didn't get much sleep, because Ellie tosses and turns and takes up more of the bed than she should. And she likes to kick the blankets off.

She both had a rough night and a cranky morning.

I leave you with photos of Ellie in her new Sleeping Beauty princess dress.
