Ellie's First Happy Meal

Today and tomorrow, Ellie and I are up in SB as I have a project here for work and Ellie is spending time with her grandparents (nick working funky hours doesn't lend itself easily to single parenthood while I travel). Well, last night Ellie and I drove up to SB. She slept the majority of the way...but when she woke up about 15 miles from SB she insisted on a special restaurant dinner with mommy.

So when we got to SB I stopped at a McDonalds just off the freeway just before my parents house.

I ordered Ellie a Happy Meal. This was her first one. She didn't know what to think. She asked if the "package" was hers and if we fries were in there. The following photos are her reactions.


































Food in a box...with a toy?!?? It was so exciting for her. It made me laugh. She's still probably one of the very few kids in the world who don't recognize a McDonalds sign.
