Race to the Bus Stop

This morning Ellie and I had to really hustle to the bus stop. It was either that or wait 15 minutes for the next wave of three buses within 2 minutes of each other. (No, it isn't supposed to bs that way.)

As you can see, Ellie brought her white Teddy bear along for the trip. He's resting comfortably in Ellie's cubby at school right now. And.. before the bus came Ellie had a quick second to catch a breather, too.

On the bus Ellie was a little despondent about something she saw on the seat next to her.

"I think somebody lost their coin right here." It was a stray penny.

On our way into school one of the fire trucks tore out of the nearby fire station, sirens blaring, and Ellie knew just what that meant. "The firemen are maybe going to help somebody who's sick and hurt. Maybe my Mommy has a headache and they are going to help my Mommy." I told her I think Mommy is just fine.

It's funny costume picture day at school today, so hopefully we'll have some fun snapshots to share tonight after we see the proofs.
