As Ann was at work Saturday, Ellie and I had a fun morning at the L.A. Zoo. This time Ellie especially enjoyed the reptile house (this chameleon is stationed outside it).
We also had a lot of fun watching the big elephant named Billy work with his handlers. They had him squirt water out of his trunk, make the elephant sound (not sure what it's called), and they gave him an elephant bath and pedicure. Yes.. they scrubbed his toes, nails, and gave him a cuticle treatment. The baby orangutan was out and climbing around her enclosure, too.. so that was fun to see.. and we made our usual stop by the gibbon enclosure when the couple of male gibbons in there were having their morning whopping and hollering party. It's quite loud and funny.
Today Ellie and Ann went to the grocery store in the morning.. we went to a toy store together to pick out a birthday gift for Ellie's friend Lauren.. and we spent part of the afternoon at a nearby playground.
Now Ellie and Ann are making enchiladas for dinner.
