Braids are it

Ellie asked for braids yesterday instead of her typical ponytail for swimming. Then last night she insisted in braids to sleep in. And again today at school. Nicks thought, she got a lot of compliments about her braids at school...so she now wants them all the time.

This morning, she was up early and was able to have eggs for breakfast. But she also insisted on reading her new princess book from Auntie Claire and Uncle Buddy. It's a collection of several princess stories and she loves it. She wanted to read at breakfast and kept asking me what several words were...until I had to get ready. She is getting better at sight words (she, the, he, her, and...) and kinda making up her own story between those. She can recognize Princess, Aurora, and other proper nouns in a Disney princess book as well. And the pictures help a lot.

Monday evenings are always interesting. She has her music class on Monday afternoon and LOVES it. Yesterday she came home with a paper where she had learned different musical notations including quarter notes (Ta) eighth notes (te) and rests (shhh). They wrote the notes and read them on their music sheets.
