Once inside the room she introduced me to a couple friends I didn't know.. "This is Charlotte, Daddy. And Laura. My preschool friends." So.. hopefully we're over the hump.
Before we left for school Ellie enjoyed going through her flash cards, which she found on her toy shelves.. which isn't where they've been.
E: "Mommy clean up a little bit yesterday?"
Me: "We both cleaned up. Mommy and Daddy."
E: "Oh. This is where these toys go?"
Me: "Yeah. We'd like to keep all your toys on their shelves."
E: "Oh. Okay."
She did well with the flash cards.. knowing that "A" is for apple.. "B" is for birdie.. "C" is for kitty cat (close enough).. "D" is for ducky.. "E" is for elephant ("And Ellie, too!"). That's as far as we got.
She skipped ahead to the "J" is for jack-o-lantern. I had to tell her "J" isn't for pumpkin.. but when you carve a face into a pumpkin it's called a jack-o-lantern. "I made a scary face on my pumpkin," she recalled.
