And she kinda didn't. She got up, picked out clothes, got dressed, turned her PJs right side out and put them on her bed, got her milk out of the fridge...and then realized she did need me to get her bagel with cream cheese (although she said if we had left it where she could reach it she could have done it by herself), brushed her teeth, put on her shoes, and checked the clock to tell me it was time to go. She also reminded me to get her lunch (which again, she said if she could reach she could have done herself).
At school she hung up her own sweat shirt.
This was all kinda major because she usually needs me to be there or assist with pretty much everything. Even if she does it on her own, she wants me there for backup. Today, she didn't. And she told me she really didn't need me in the mornings. Good, be independent, it'll make my world a better place in like 4-6 weeks!
And should I expect anything less from a kid who knows the difference between an obtuse, acute, and right triangles and angles? I didn't learn that till I was in 7th grade. Nick, I'm not sure he remembered the differences until Ellie explained it to him.
