Party Time?

Not quite.. at least not for a big family party.. but festivities (both birthday and holiday) are all that seem to be on Ellie's mind recently.

This morning she talked glowingly about the birthday party for her friend Collette that she attended last weekend. And today she began asking about Christmas parties. "We have party for Christmas, too? Not only birthdays?"

Ellie did a very good job of listening to my words this morning -- putting on her coat, shoes, and hat all by herself -- so she got a special treat for the bus ride to school.. a sugar cookie Mommy made last night.

Ellie then got excited about our plans for tomorrow evening, which include putting up and decorating out Christmas tree.. and making some more cookies. "I will put lots of sprinkles on the cookies. Red, and green, and blue, and white, and pink!"

On our way into school Ellie's focus shifted to her birthday. "After Christmas.. for my birthday.. I will have lots and lots of cupcakes to share with my friends! You can have one, too, Daddy."

Inside school Ellie showed me the "house" she made for me.. and asked me to lay down and go to sleep in it, but soon realized: "Nooooo. You're too big for the house! I fit in it!"
