1. "Where's Mommy?" That was the first thing she said to me. Mommy usually gets her up in the morning before heading off to work, but today she had to catch an early flight out to Los Angeles for a week of work. I reminded Ellie of that to which she replied, "Mommy not on vacation. Work trip only." Hopefully she can have a little fun out in California still. Ellie was heartened a little when I told her Mommy will be able to see grandma out there, too.
2. "I hear rain, Daddy. It's raining outside." That bit of news only contributed to Ellie's not-quite-glum, but definitely less-bubbly-than-normal mood today. She was fairly unhappy to have to wear her rain jacket, and to feel raindrops on her head on the way to the bus stop. But.. she had fun ducking in and out of the doorway there.. seeing how fast and how far she could go before the rain started bothering her again.
