Singing in the Rain

If I'd only remembered to have the video camera switched on...

This morning it was sprinkling outside and as we stepped out the door I started singing "Singing in the Rain".. which Ellie tried imitating immediately. I told her there is a fun dance that goes with the song.. so she started skipping and spinning along the sidewalk in the drizzle heading to the bus stop.

Once we got there Ellie continued with some other songs in her rain-sheltered doorway.. before noticing a doggy waiting for his owner to come out of the Grasshopper. She was a little scared to get too close. But she did wave and say "bye-bye" to the dog as it started walking home.

Ellie's next activity was examining a leaf she found in the doorway. I even got a piece.

Once at school Ellie asked me to do something.. "Sit on the beanbag with me, Daddy. I read you my favorite book." Apparently "Yes, Yes. No, No." is her favorite one there in the Toddler 1 room. It is pretty good. She had fun flipping through it telling the baby on its pages whether what he was doing was okay or not okay -- the object of the book. Kiernan enjoyed listening to Ellie's reading, as well. They shared a couple big laughs when the baby did something silly.. like eating the dog's food or pouring cereal on his head.
