Ice, Ice Ellie!

This morning Ellie had a good time making up games on the chairs outside the Grasshopper. She called one "Riding the Horsie" and another "Leaning Back."

She also made some funny faces at me.

Those games apparently exhausted her so much that she needed a glass of water. One of the waitresses from the restaurant was outside on break and heard Ellie ask me for water. When I told her I didn't have any.. and we could get some at school.. the nice lady went inside and came back out with a small plastic cup for Ellie. Ellie did a good job saying "Thank you," after the lady handed her the cup.

After drinking a little Ellie took greater interest in the ice in the cup -- fishing out a cube with her hands then chomping down on it. "It's cold and crunchy, Daddy." Why, yes.. ice usually is.

Once at school Ellie was a great help to Lily. Lily was alone in the room for the time being.. and asked Ellie to set out paper towels at the seats of all her friends for snack time. Ellie did so.. telling me who sits in every seat.. and getting them all right. She was even nice enough to pull out their chairs for them.. without even having to be asked.
