The Amazing Race?

This morning started out normal enough. Ellie enjoyed some Raisin Bran for breakfast and invited her little fairy princess figurine to her birthday party -- for which she's more and more excited by the day. Ellie even got some practice wearing a party hat and filled me in on who's coming over.






"I will wear my pretty princess dress and be Sleeping Beauty. Shayna can be Snow White. Meara can be Cinderella. And Kiernan can be Ariel or Jasmine!"

Nice of her to give Kiernan a choice.. but nobody else. "Chadwick and James can't be princesses because they're boys. They can be princes!" she says.

On the bus to school is where the real fun started, though. As we were heading down Bunker Hill Street Ellie noticed her friend Joe walking with his dad out her window. "Joe! Hey, Joe! I'm on the bus!"... and she started waving and laughing. Joe actually saw her, waved back, and started pulling his dad along a little faster.

Once we got off the bus Ellie was convinced Joe was going up catch her, so she took a circuitous path to school -- up and down the little hill with the planters.. hiding in the ramp up to the spinny door.. and ducking behind lamp posts.






Joe eventually caught up.. and they chased each other around a bit before heading inside to build Legos in the preschool room.
