After finishing her "growing food" for breakfast (Greek yogurt today) she asked nicely, "Can I please have this lollipop? Who gave it to me?" I told her it was Sean and she let me know, "I be sure to say 'Thank you' to Sean yesterday for Valentine's Day."
It also turns out one of Ellie's classmates is a very practical gift-giver. "Joe give me this ticket. It has a car on it, but it's for the bus. Same same as your ticket for the bus!"
Ellie did a good job of keeping a tight hold on her "bus ticket" all the way to the bus stop.
"I will us my ticket just like you," she said.. and she pretty much did.
While she couldn't reach the top ticket slot where they actually go, Ellie knew so much as to try to fit it into *a* slot of some kind.. so she picked the ticket printing slot. Close enough.
I made sure to tap my card on the reader on top so the machine "dinged" at the same time as Ellie reached her ticket forward -- just after that picture was taken -- and Ellie became very happy and proud with herself. "I made it 'ding' just like you, Daddy! With my ticket!"
The rest of the riders on the bus all thought that was pretty funny / cute judging by their smiles.
