Helping Hands

Ellie was in a very helpful mood this morning.. which was nice since I had a couple of tasks to complete before we headed off for school.

Ellie noticed an empty milk carton on the kitchen counter.. and knew exactly where it needed to go. "It's empty, Daddy. I put in cycle [she means 'recycle']."

So.. between being silly and pretending to drink from it.. Ellie carried the carton out to the curb and put it right into the recycling bin.

After that we had a couple letters to mail.. and Ellie was excited to help with that, as well.. though she couldn't quite reach the mail box slot.

We then made a quick stop at the playground on the way to school. Ellie said something pretty funny on our way to the bus stop. She saw a lady taking her trash out across the street, leaned into my ear as I was carrying her, and said, "That's a mean lady, Daddy. She broke Cinderella's dress."

Thankfully, Ellie whispered softly enough that the lady -- who looked nothing like Cinderella's stepmother -- couldn't hear.

As an extra bonus -- here's a silly double-self portrait from last night:
