Then we got to the bus stop where Ellie decided she wanted a whistling lesson. She knows to pucker up and blow, as you can see, but just needs some practice fine-tuning the music-making skills.
After she tried for a while Ellie started singing "Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's Off to Work We Go" from Snow White. When it came to the whistling part of that song Ellie pointed to me and said, "You whistle now, Daddy!" So.. we had a nice little duet going for a short while.
After singing and whistling wound down Ellie said "Hi." to one of the waitresses at Grasshopper who was filling out the chalk sandwich board for the sidewalk. She was kind enough to let Ellie use the restaurant's entryway as a runway for a bit. I asked Ellie not to play in there, but the woman said it was just fine since it wasn't busy.. and because the waitresses in there apparently enjoy watching Ellie outside every morning on the chairs and/or at our bus stop. More Ellie fans. Never knew.
